Responsibilities

  • Trim, prune, and maintain coconut and other tropical trees to promote their health, safety, and appearance.
  • Safely climb trees using appropriate equipment and techniques, adhering to industry safety standards at all times.
  • Assess tree health and recommend treatments or removals as needed.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as chainsaws, pole pruners, and rigging gear.
  • Collaborate with the landscaping team to ensure efficient and high-quality project completion.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas, including responsible disposal of debris.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing guidance and excellent customer service regarding tree care needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a tree trimmer, including the ability to climb and trim coconut trees.
  • Knowledge of tree care techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification in arboriculture or tree climbing (such as ISA Certified Arborist) is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii’s native and tropical tree species is preferred.

Compensation
