Housing Related Support Services

The Centre provides services, activities and support for clients who qualify under Haringey Council’s Housing Related Supporting People’s Scheme, targeted at disadvantaged people who are unable to access services from any other source.

The aim is to support them both within their housing situations and also gain confidence within the community. All this helps to prevent break-down and gain esteem. The Cypriot Centre helps them to access services; provides Welfare Benefits and individual advice and counselling; advocates on their behalf in both culture and languages (Greek and Turkish); provides access to other Centre services, activities and support.

For all ages and abilities, we offer advice, advocacy, enablement and liaison in 3 languages; English, Greek & Turkish for the following:

  • Basi Welfare Benefits: Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Pensions & Pension Credit
  • Housing Related Advice & Advocacy: Repairs, Rent Arrears, Council Tax, Transfers, Re-housing, Resettlement, Sheltered Accommodation, Managing Own Home & Home Improvement
  • Liaison With Services – Local Authority: Social Services & Legal Advice
  • Liaison With Services – Health Authority: GPs & Hospitals
  • Employment Issues: Liaison With Job Centres, Help With Applications, Local & Other Job Opportunities
